The rare male calico

Male cats with both orange and black coloring are extremely rare. They are also almost always sterile. This is because in order for them to have both orange and the black in their coats, they must have all or part of both female X chromosomes.

Happy Ending Message 1 from Zeke December 2, 2004 Zeke and Willy are doing great! I think they really like their new home. There are cat toys all over the house! They are getting along very well together.


Happy Ending Message 2 from Zeke Willy is about a month older than Zeke, and he really likes to eat, so he weighs a couple of pounds more. He has decided that he is the boss, and Zeke seems to go along with that. Zeke is a lot more active, and also more affectionate.


Happy Ending Message 3 from Zeke The other good news is that the bird, Beamer, has learned to tolerate them, and they mostly ignore the bird. Except that Zeke occasionally gets on top of the cage to try to play with the bird's toys! I don't let them in the bird's room unless I'm there (it's also my study). Bob
