Bert 's bio at the time of adoption: Bert is a very handsome 4 year old neutered shelti/spaniel mix. He's crate-trained and making great progress on house breaking in his foster home. He walks well on a leash, and also enjoys playing fetch with his toys and getting lots of love and affection. He is good with dogs and has not been around cats. Bridget's bio at the time of adoption: Bridget is an 11 month old LlasaPoo who is very sweet. She is good with children, dogs and cats and is also house and crate trained. What a cutie! Bridget is already spayed and is living in a foster home. ADOPTED 1/11/10

Brittany
Brittany's bio at the time of adoption: Brittany is a hound mix that came in as a stray. She is a gorgeous girl! She is very friendly and full of energy. She would make a wonderful companion for an active person. She is great with other dogs. She settled in nicely in her kennel and likes her blanket and toys. Brodie
Brodie's bio at the time of adoption: Brodie is a 3 year old neutered JRT/dachshund who weighs 25 pounds. He came in with Taz and Sampson. Brodie is good with children, dogs, and cats and he is also house trained. It is very hard on these dogs having their owner move away and now being separated from each other. Brodie is living in a foster home with his brother, Taz. Brodie and Taz are very bonded and so will only be adopted out together. ADOPTED 2/22/10

Buddy
Buddy's bio at the time of adoption: Buddy is a 6-7 year old super friendly neutered yellow lab. He is a big boy at 75 pounds and he is good with children and other dogs. Everyone dog he meets he has liked so far. The only no-no is cats - he needs to be in a home without them. He was house and crate trained but may need a refresher. Coco
Coco 's bio at the time of adoption: Coco is a nice 11 year old spayed long-haired chihuahua mix who is just beautiful. Little Coco is a total lap dog. She came in with her daughter, Star, who is also for adoption. Coco would be best in a home without children as she has growled at them. She is already house and crate trained and is living in a foster home. She shows no interest in the house cat and loves to go on walks. ADOPTED 2/7/10

Duke
Duke 's bio at the time of adoption: Duke is a 4 year old miniature pinscher. He is a real sweetie that has lived with other dogs. His foster mom reports that she hasn't seen any bad habits in him. When she is out, Duke is left in a room with a babygate at the door. He hasn't disturbed anything in the room to date! Duke is doing a great job work on house training in his foster home. Dusty/Gizmo
Dusty/Gizmo 's bio at the time of adoption: Dusty (renamed Gizmo because he seemed to like it better!) is a handsome Lhasa Apso. He is very affectionate and loves being picked up and held. He is still a bit skinny and hopefully will gain a few pounds. He gets along well with other dogs and walks well on a leash. He is also working on house-training and crate-training in his foster home. He will need to be neutered prior to adoption. Dusty is living in a foster home. ADOPTED 2/7/10

Gack (Jack)
Gack (Jack)'s bio at the time of adoption: Gack is a 1 year old neutered cattle dog mx. He was rescued from an outdoor situation where he was only in a crate at night. He has a very friendly temperment and is good with other dogs and children. He is living at the center. ADOPTED 2/16/10

Ginger
Ginger 's bio at the time of adoption: Ginger is a 5 year old lab/shepherd mix who weighs about 70 pounds. Poor Ginger was found holding up traffic on a busy road and then hid under a car. A kind person coaxed her out and took her in. Unfortunately they cannot keep her, but saw what a sweet girl she is so they are fostering her until she can find a permanent home. Ginger is good with children and other dogs. She is fine with cats, but may chase them. She is an easy going dog that does not bark excessively, is not destructive and does not mark. Ginger is house trained and seems to be ok in a crate as well. She walks well on a leash and tends to bark in the car. Click on her picture to see another pose. ADOPTED 1/25/10

Hendrix
Hendrix's bio at the time of adoption: Update: He is in a foster home for the holidays and he seems to be house trained. His foster dasd reports that he is very smart and loves to snuggle on the sofa!
Hendrix is a 7 month old neutered black lab/Boxer mix. He is extremely friendly and living at the center. His owner was no longer able to keep him but loved him very much. He is good wtih children and other dogs; however, he does seem scared around certain dogs. He is ok with cats if they tolerate his rough play. Hendrix will need to work on house training in his new home. Did you know that dogs with a black coat are harder to place than their flashier coated canines? Black dogs are just as wonderful so please don't overlook them...think of how they'll stand out in the the snow! Click on his picture to see another pose. ADOPTED 1/17/10

Henry
Henry 's bio at the time of adoption: Henry is a 2 year old lab/Border Collie mix who weighs 44 pounds. He came in with Scooter and Kevin. All are very friendly and affectionate dogs.Their owner could no longer afford them and was keeping them in an outdoor kennel. He may be partially house trained but will need some more help with it. Due to their size and lack of experience with small children, we will only place them in a home iwth older kids. Henry is living at the center and will need to be neutered prior to adoption. Holly
Holly 's bio at the time of adoption: Holly is a 6 year old spayed border collie mix who weighs about 45 pounds. She seems to be fine with other dogs and would probably chase a cat. Hunter
Hunter 's bio at the time of adoption: Hunter is a gorgeous 5-month-old red tick English coonhound. He is a fun loving guy! He is highly energetic as befits his age and breed, but is also quite loving and willing to please. He will require extensive daily running to be happy and will repay you with devotion. If you like a true hound, the baying, long-eared and lanky kind, Hunter may be for you. Hunter is working on housebreaking in his foster home and will be up to date on his shots when he is adopted. Keela 's bio at the time of adoption: Keela is a 6 month old female shepherd mix puppy who is 30 pounds so far. She is good with children, dogs and cats. Keela is also house and crate trained. Keno
Keno 's bio at the time of adoption: Keno is a 2 year old neutered Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff). This great guy weighs in at 100 pounds! He is good with cats and other dogs and has lived with a small terrier. Keno is good with children as long as they are old enough to be around such a large dog. He is house trained and living in a foster home. Keno is epileptic and on medication for this. PAWS is working with a vet to get his epiliepsy under proper control. Kevin
Kevin 's bio at the time of adoption: Kevin is a 3 year old lab/Border Collie mix who weighs 50 pounds. He came in with Scooter and Henry. All are very friendly and affectionate dogs. Their owner could no longer afford them and was keeping them in an outdoor kennel. They will all need house training. Due to their size and lack of experience with small children, we will only place them in a home iwth older kids. He is scared of a leash right now so we will go slow with him teaching him to walk with one. Kevin is living at the center and will need to be neutered prior to adoption. ADOPTED 2/7/10

LuAnn
LuAnn 's bio at the time of adoption: LuAnn is a 6 month old beagle/Bassett Hound mix who is all puppy! LuAnn is 20 pounds right now and good with other dogs as well as being house and crate trained. Here is a note from her forster mom: She is a great dog! Very sweet! So far, we have spent a lot of time playing with Lulu - she is the submissive one. Being a puppy, she is full of energy but has her very calm times. So far, no accidents in the house and she is great with children. LuAnn will need to be spayed prior to adoption. ADOPTED 2/8/10

Lucas
Lucas 's bio at the time of adoption: Lucas is a 4 year old Bassett Hound. He weighs 61 pounds and is living at the center. Lucas is good with children and other dogs and he is crate trained. Poor Lucas was expected to hunt and never wanted to. The poor guy has never been in a home before so he will need someone to train him. He surely will repay you with years of love and devotion. Luka
Luka 's bio at the time of adoption: Luka is a 1-2 year old husky who was found as a stray. Luka is very friendly and a real talker! Luka loves to play with other dogs, especially girl dogs! He is a friendly, sweet boy who is like a puppy in a big husky's body. He needs some work on his manners and will be a wonderful dog. He's definitely a volunteer favorite here at PAWS and we'd love to see him get adopted soon so he can enjoy all the snow this winter with his new family! Luka is good with older children. Oscar 's bio at the time of adoption: Oscar is a 4 year old miniature daschaund who craves attention and love. He is a Hurricane Katrina rescue. He is ten pounds and neutered. Roscoe 's bio at the time of adoption: Roscoe is a 5 year old neutered Rhodesian/chow mix mix who is 90 pounds. He is a rescue from Hurricane Katrina. He is a very sweet dog! He is shy at first, but just loves to be around people. He is good with older children, dogs, and cats. Roscoe is also house trained and living in a foster home with his buddy, Mocha. ADOPTED 2/27/10

Rudy 's bio at the time of adoption: Rudy is a 4 year old neutered Boxer/shepherd mix who weighs 45 pounds. He is very friendly and energetic. Sammie's bio at the time of adoption: Sammie is a 2-3 year old neutered Chihuahua mix. He came in with Duke and the poor little guy is emaciated and is recovering in a foster home. Samson
Samson's bio at the time of adoption: Samson is a 4 year old neutered lab/Akita mix who weighs 110 pounds (although the poor guy needs to lose some weight!). Samson is a really sweet fellow who is so happy to see people. He came in with Taz and Brodie who got adopted and will do best with another dog. Samson is good with children, dogs, and cats and he is also house trained. It is very hard on these dogs having their owner move away and now being separated from each other. Samson is clearly upset by the loss of his people and dog friends and would like to have a new forever home soon. Samson is living at the PAWS center. Scooter 's bio at the time of adoption: Scooter is a 3 year old neutered lab/Border Collie mix who weighs 63 pounds. He came in with Henry and Kevin who have already been adopted! All are very friendly and affectionate dogs. Their owner could no longer afford them and was keeping them in an outdoor kennel. Due to their size and lack of experience with small children, we will only place them in a home with older kids. Sherlock
Sherlock 's bio at the time of adoption: Sherlock is a tremendously nice 6 month old Airdale mix. The poor fellow was abandoned on someone's porch and is now looking for a forever home. The volunteers report that he is a silly fellow who loves to play fetch. They love his wire-y hairdo. Currently he weighs 25 pounds but is underweight. He is good with children and other dogs and is also mostly house trained. He is very high energy and gets into things at this age. He will benefit from obedience training as well as crate training. Streak
Streak 's bio at the time of adoption: Streak is a 5 year old neutered lab/pit mix. Even though he is 5 years old, he still likes to act like a puppy when with people he loves best. Streak is friendly with all people, and very healthy and energetic. Streak loves toys and is wonderful at fetching! Streak is fairly independent and fully house trained. His foster mom has to work 8 or 9 hours a day and he waits patiently in the house. Streak is good with children but needs to be the only dog in the home. He is not good with cats. Tank 's bio at the time of adoption: Tank is an adorable 11-week-old Saint Bernard-fox terrier mix pup. In spite of his name, he doesn’t seem like he’s going to be as big as a full-blood Saint Bernard. Tank is very smart and not overly active. He gets along well with the cats and other dogs in his foster home and is working on housebreaking. ADOPTED 2/1/10
