Alaska

Alaska

Alaska's bio at the time of adoption: This beautiful white german shepherd is very gentle & friendly!  Alaska is like a big baby & acts very young for his age!  He currently lives with teenagers and does very well with them. Alaska has been exposed to younger children and does well. He has been exposed to other dogs, especially larger one, and has done fine with them. Alaska has lived with cats and does very well with them.  He is protective of his owner around strangers.  He is also overly protective of his food, treats, and bones. He is housetrained. Amelia

Amelia

Amelia's bio at the time of adoption: This little 1.5 year old chihuahua/beagle/chow mix is so sweet & adorable!  Amelia is very cuddly & affectionate!  She loves to give kisses!  At the same time, Amelia is a very high energy dog!   Amelia needs a new home because one of the dogs she was living with was becoming aggressive towards her.  Amelia has an "attitude" with other dogs, & so she would probably do best as the only dog in the house.  Amelia is not aggressive towards cats, but she will torment them unless her person stays on top of the situation.   Amelia like to jump up on things!  She also likes to eat, so all food has to be put away, or she will get into it.  Amelia has been around older children & is fine with them.  Amelia is living in a kennel & needs a home!  Click on Amelia's picture to see another photo of her!  ADOPTED 9/9/07

In fact, he thinks he's a lap dog! Baxter is an active and sociable fellow! He gets along with cats. While he lived with another dog in the past, he didn't really like it. So he would do best as an only dog. Baxter needs a new home because he was living with a toddler & did not adjust well. So he needs a home without any small children. We think he would be fine with older children, though. Baxter is about 9 yrs old, housetrained & cratetrained! Click on Baxter's photo to see another picture of him!  ADOPTED 1/11/07

He will be a loyal companion for his new person!  Ben gets along with other dogs, although he will protect his food from them. Ben needs a home with no children.  Ben is already neutered & housetrained. ..................................................................................................................................................................................
Bingo

Bingo

Bingo's bio at the time of adoption: This highly energetic 7-month old male African basenji mix is looking for a home he can call his own! Bingo is sweet, snuggly, loving, crate trained, and house trained (he scratches on the door when he wants to go out). He gets along well with smaller dogs, but not bigger ones. Not getting along with bigger dogs is typical of the breed. If there are other (smaller) dogs in the house, Bingo will need to be top dog. He plays, hunts, and gets along well with his foster mom's cat, but he does think that all cats want to rough housed and be chased! Other small creatures are considered prey. Bingo knows sit, down, and shake and is learning house manners and leash manners fairly quickly. He also respects a baby gate, but prefers to be with his people when they are home and will whine if he can not be with you! Being a basenji, Bingo will chase cars, bikes, scooters, etc. So when he is outside, Bingo must be in a securely fenced yard or on-leash at all times. He will try to bolt out the door, so precautions need to be made for this. Bingo may try to climb the fence, so if his new home has a chain link fence, or something similar, then Bingo may not be able to be off-leash in the fenced yard. He is also very vocal & would not be appropriate for someone living in an apartment or townhouse.  Bingo loves all people and children, but his high energy level and jumping may be too much for young children. Exercise and training is a must for Bingo! Bingo is not food or toy possessive with people, but will guard his food and special toys (raw hides and other chewies) from other dogs. He loves to play tug & chase with people, dogs & cats! Bingo loves curling up next to his person on the sofa. He would prefer to sleep in someone's bedroom, and better yet, right in the bed with you! He will sleep in his crate, but the crate needs to be in a bedroom as he will whine if separated from his family. Bingo weighs about 27 lbs. & will probably be about 30-33 lbs. when full grown.  Bingo is up-to-date on shots.  Click on Bingo's picture to see another photo of him!  ADOPTED 5/6/07

Bo

Bo

Bo's bio at the time of adoption: This 4-year old male terrier mix is very affectionate -- he loves to sit on your lap!  At the same time, Bo is a very energy dog!  Sometimes Bo is a little shy at first, but once he gets to know you, you will be his best buddy!  Bo is good with older children and adults, although he can be hesitant around some men.  Bo is not good with young children.  He is good with other dogs & cats.  Bo is already housetrained & cratetrained!  Bo weighs about 15 lbs.   He will be neutered before he is adopted.  Click on Bo's picture to see another photo of him!  ADOPTED 8/5/07

Bob

Bob

Bob's bio at the time of adoption: This 3-year old male beagle mix is a lovebug!  Bob is very affectionate!  He is also very friendly & outgoing!  Bob loves other dogs!  He does have separation issues, but he seems to do better when he is with another dog.  He is housetrained, but has accidents when left alone due to his separation issues.  We suspect that if Bob is in a home with another dog, he might not have accidents when left alone.  Bob can be nippy, especially if he gets excited. Sometimes he will growl if you get near food he has taken but is not supposed to have.  (However, he is fine if you go near his food bowl).  So  Bob needs a firm, yet compassionate owner who can work with Bob to finish out those rough edges!  Bob needs a home without any young children.  All members of Bob's new family need be able to handle Bob & his issues.  Bob is living in a kennel & needs a home!  ADOPTED 4/22/07
..................................................................................................................................................................................
Bones

Bones

Bones's bio at the time of adoption: This Great Pyrenees/Bernese Mt. Dog mix is gorgeous!  Bones is about 4-5 years old & weighs about 90-100 lbs. He is very gentle & friendly with people.  Bones knows 'sit', 'shake' & 'speak'!  Bones is playful, but will play rough.  He has lived with a 2 year old child, & was excellent with the child. However, Bones is food aggressive. In addition, he has gotten upset with children he doesn't know racing around. He is very strong and will pull on his leash. For these reasons, we do not recommend Bones be in a home with children. Sometimes Bones will growl at some men when he is in a new situation & is frightened.  He has been socialized with other medium to large size dogs & has done fine with them.  However, he will not back down if he is challenged by another dog.  Bones is not good with cats.  Bones is housetrained, but started having accidents in his prior home when he moved into a house with a female dog.  However, now Bones is living in a kennel, & has not had any accidents in the kennel.  Bones is neutered. Bones desperately needs a home!  Click on Bones picture to see another photo of him!  ADOPTED 5/23/07

Bourbon

Bourbon

Bourbon's bio at the time of adoption: Bourbon was found along the side of the road with her sister and brother. We think she is around 5 to 6 months old. She is very friendly and sweet and wants to sit on her person's lap and be cuddled. She is playful and good with her foster family's dogs and appears to be mostly housebroken. The smallest of the three foundlings, Bourbon will probably be around 40 pounds when full grown.  ADOPTED 10/9/07

Brandy

Brandy

Brandy's bio at the time of adoption: Brandy is a shepherd-hound mix that was found along with her brother and sister along the side of the road. We think she is about 5 to 6 months old. She is playful and gets along well with her foster family's dogs and appears to be mostly housebroken.  ADOPTED 8/25/07

Brownie

Brownie

Brownie's bio at the time of adoption: This little female beagle/chihuahua mix only weighs about 7 lbs. & she is full grown!  Brownie is good with children, other dogs & cats!  She is housetrained & cratetrained!  She loves her squeaky toys & ball!  She also loves to play fetch!  Brownie would do best in a home where someone is home a lot .  She is being surrendered by her family because the child in the family is allergic to her.  Click on Brownie's photo to see another picture of her!  ADOPTED 7/11/07
..................................................................................................................................................................................
Brownstone

Brownstone

Brownstone's bio at the time of adoption: This handsome fellow was named for his beautiful brindle coat! Brownstone's foster home calls him Brownie, for short! His parents are a pure-bred beagle and a pure-bred Staffordshire terrier, and he is pure adorable! Brownie is about 1 year old and, at 40 lb, will stay medium sized. Brownie is still very much a puppy -- he's playful & he loves to turn common household items into toys! He still tends to jump (just like a puppy would)! But he is intelligent and willing to please -- we think he will respond well to someone who is willing to spend time with him & work with him. He has been exposed to young children & is excellent with them! He lives with other dogs in his foster home, however, being part Staffordshire terrier, we will place him in a home where he is the only male dog. Also, we do not recommend a home with cats for Brownie. Brownie is housetrained, neutered, and up to date on shots!  Brownie would prefer a home in which is person is home a lot. He is working on cratetraining; Brownie needs to be in a plastic crate rather than a metal one.  If you’re looking for a young dog with lots of personality and limitless potential, stop by to meet Brownie! Click on Brownie's picture to see another photo of him! AQDOPTED 5/27/07

Buddy

Buddy's bio at the time of adoption: This young male coonhound mix is super friendly!  Buddy is very affectionate!  He loves to give hugs!  We think Buddy is 8-12 months old.  Buddy was found as a stray, so we don't know much more about him.  He seems to be housetrained, or at least partially housetrained.  He is cratetrained, also.  Buddy is probably okay with dogs.  He is interested in cats, & we wouldn't be surprised if he chased them if they run.  Buddy weighs about 45 lbs, but he is underweight.  Buddy will be nuetered before he is adopted.  Buddy is living in a kennel & needs a home!  AQDOPTED 5/5/07

Buddy

Buddy

Buddy's bio at the time of adoption: This 2.5 year old male lab/beagle mix just wants to play!  Buddy is good with other dogs & children of all ages!  He is also good with cats, although he will chase them sometimes.  Buddy is a very easy-going dog!  He loves to snuggle with his people & sleep with a person at night.  But don't let his easy-going nature fool you!  He loves to chase a ball & play catch!  Buddy also likes to sit on his person's lap!  He loves attention & to be with people!  Buddy is housetrained & cratetrained. He does have some separation issues, so we recommend crating him in a plastic crate when no one is home.  Click on Buddy's picture to see another photo of him!  AQDOPTED 10/3/07

Bugsy

Bugsy

Bugsy's bio at the time of adoption: This male terrier mix is so sweet!  Bugsy is actually quite young -- only about 3 years old! (So don't be fooled by the gray muzzle!) Bugsy loves men, women, children as well as other dogs, both big and small. He loves to play or he is content to cuddle on your lap. He likes to sleep besides his person's bed on his pillow all night. He is very loyal! Bugsy needs a home where someone is home a lot -- he doesn't really need attention, as much as he needs company. (He likes the company of other dogs, but he prefers the company of people!) While Bugsy is housetrained and cratetrained, he does have accidents in the house. He also has a skin disorder that requires frequent baths and regular vet care. He weighs about 20 lbs.  Click on Bugsy's picture to see another photo of him!  ADOPTED 4/26/07

Ciarra

Ciarra's bio at the time of adoption: This 3.5 year old female shepherd/husky/sharpei mix is an active & energetic dog!  Ciarra (pronounced Sierra) is good with children of all ages, other dogs & cats!  She is housetrained & crate trained.  She is crated when her people can't pay attention to her since she will sometimes have an accident.  Ciarra will run if she gets loose, so it is necessary to keep her on-leash or in a securely fenced area when she is outside.  Ciarra will escape out the screen door if there is a crack she can pry open, although she is getting better about not doing this as she is getting older.  She will also dig.  Ciarra is already spayed!   Click on Ciarra's picture to see another photo of her!   ADOPTED 7/4/07

Eli

Eli's bio at the time of adoption: This small lab/dalmatian mix has been moved around a lot -- so he just needs a permanent home to call his own! Eli is about 2 years old & he weighs about 40 lbs. He is already neutered & housetrained! Eli lived with a small grouchy dog in the past & he was very good with her!  While Eli also lived with an infant, & was good with the baby, we noticed that he didn't seem to like a lot of activity (at least when we first met him). Because of this, we think he would do best in a home with older children. Eli is an energetic dog -- he loves to go for walks & to play with a tennis ball! He also loves to have his belly rubbed!  Eli became very excited when we introduced him to a cat.  We don't think he is aggressive with them, but he would probably chase one.  Please think about making Eli a part of your family! Fiona

Fiona

Fiona's bio at the time of adoption: This pretty girl is a 4-year old sheltie/border collie mix. Fiona is crate trained, house trained, spayed, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines. She is a very sweet and loving pup with the "shy-er" sheltie temperament, who loves to hang out with her person getting her belly rubbed or just chewing on a nylabone. Although she is a sheltie/ border collie, she does not have a working dog temperament and settles nicely in the house when provided with a daily walk. She would prefer a quiet home as loud noises and sudden movements may spook her. She is used to living in a quite, country setting, so she would do well in a quieter neighborhood. When nervous, she will sometimes bark, and likes to touch her owner or go to her crate. Fiona has completed beginner and intermediate obedience, gets along well with other dogs (as long as they are not too pushy) and cats (as long as they do not smack her too often). She does bark to let you know someone is outside, but does not bark incessantly. Due to her shy nature, she will need to be on a lead or in a fenced yard when outside. Her foster mom is willing to offer a "mini training lesson" to show her new family how she has been trained and the commands Fiona knows to make Fiona's transition to her new home easier!  ADOPTED 1/28/07
